The Right Time to Submit Your Thailand Digital Arrival Card TDAC
A Simple Guide to the 3-Day Rule and Time Zone Tips

Timing Is Everything with the Thailand Arrival Card
If you’re planning a trip to Thailand, knowing when to submit your Thailand Arrival Card is just as important as how to fill it out. The system only accepts submissions within a 72-hour window before your arrival — and using the wrong time zone can easily lead to errors.
Submitting too early won’t save time; it may leave you without a valid QR code when you need it most. Here’s how to get your timing just right.
Section 1: What Is the 3-Day Rule?
The TDAC is meant to reflect your most up-to-date travel and health information, so the Thai government limits submissions to the three days (72 hours) before your scheduled arrival.
Key Details:
- ✅ You can submit starting exactly 72 hours before your flight’s arrival time in Thailand.
- 🌏 Time zone matters: All calculations use Thailand Time (GMT+7)—not your local time.
- ⚠ Submitting earlier: The official portal may reject your form or hold your QR code until the 72-hour window begins. Even if a service accepts your details early, you won’t receive your confirmation in time to use it.
- 💡 In short: wait until the window opens—it’s faster and more reliable.
Section 2: How to Calculate Your Submission Time
Use this simple method:
Your earliest submission time = Your arrival time in Thailand (GMT+7) minus 72 hours
Real Examples (All in Thailand Time – GMT+7)
| Your Arrival in Thailand | Earliest You Can Submit |
| Wednesday, May 10 at 11:00 AM | Sunday, May 7 at 11:00 AM |
| Monday, December 4 at 2:00 PM | Friday, December 1 at 2:00 PM |
| Friday, April 28 at 8:00 PM | Tuesday, April 25 at 8:00 PM |
Converting to Your Local Time
If you’re filling out the form from abroad:
- Confirm your flight’s arrival time in Thailand (GMT+7) (check your ticket or airline app).
- Subtract 72 hours from that time.
- Convert the result to your current time zone.
🌍 Example:
You’re in London (GMT+0). Your flight lands in Bangkok at 5:00 PM on Thursday (Thailand Time).
72 hours earlier = Monday at 5:00 PM Thailand Time.
That’s Monday at 10:00 AM in London → So you can submit at 10:00 AM London time.
🔍 Tip: Type “current time in Bangkok” in Google or use a time converter to avoid mistakes.
Section 3: What If You Submit Too Late—or Not at All?
Thailand does allow you to complete the Thailand Arrival Card at the airport, but it’s not ideal:
- ⏳ Extra waiting time: Without a QR code, you’ll be sent to a help desk or self-service terminal near immigration.
- 📱 On-the-spot submission: You’ll need to use airport Wi-Fi to fill out the form—adding 15 to 30 minutes to your arrival process.
- ✈️ Possible check-in delays: Some airlines now ask for TDAC confirmation during check-in or boarding, especially on long-haul flights.
- 📌 While it’s possible to complete it last-minute, doing it in advance ensures a smoother experience.
A Helpful Tip from Our Team
For the best balance of convenience and compliance, aim to submit your Thailand Arrival Card about 2 days before your flight. This keeps you safely within the 72-hour window while giving you time to save your QR code.
As soon as you receive your confirmation, take a screenshot and save it on your phone—this is what you’ll show at immigration.
And if you’d like to double–check your arrival time or submission details, our document review service can help you stay on track—so you arrive in Thailand with peace of mind.
